Make Your Goals Inevitable

The other day I was at a local park with a dear friend and her 3 children. The minute her children got out of the car they became free in spirit, free to feel joy, free of restrictions. I found myself completely mesmerized watching these 3 little children. I thought to myself, this is exactly what God expects of us. He wants us to live a life of joy free from restrictions that we place on ourselves, for our spirits to be open to His will.  We are His children and what parent doesn’t want these exact same things.

In my mind I realize what the reaction would be if I were to  share this event with others. Immediately, I could hear one saying, “free of restrictions? I’m overweight and I have high blood pressure.”  another would say, “Joy? Since my divorce, there is little joy in my life.”  We have long forgotten how to be pure in spirit and free to feel joy, to abandon the limitations and restrictions we have put on ourselves.

Think back to a time when your life was full of joy. What brought you this joy?  You may not be able to duplicate that exact situation, but reflect back to the feeling, that feeling can be duplicated; It could be the joy in helping others. The joy in allowing yourself to feel free of self doubt and fear.  Sing even though you may not have perfect pitch, lighten your spirit. God rejoices in our songs.

Experience new adventures, they can be as simple as trying out a new restaurant or taking a few friends for a day trip. God wants us to experience the life He has given us. “Go, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart, for God has already approved what you do.” Ecclesiastes 9:7 .This does not mean that we should all go out and get drunk. God wants us to celebrate our life and our purpose here.

What we have lost of our childhood is the ability to enjoy each day; free from worry, free from the fear of the unknown. Children accept each day with an open spirit, free from self imposed limitations and most of all they are ready to experience the  JOY in each new day. So I say this to each of you, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit”. Romans 15:13
